Float Plan Page Quite simply, by filling out a float plan it could save your life. Every year searches are made for lost or overdue boaters and unless it is known where they were planning on going, it can be difficult and sometimes too late to find them. The easiest way to prevent a bad situation is to fill out a float plan and leave it with someone that can call for help if you are late or overdue. Many harbors have them at their launch ramps or harbormasters office; take the time to fill one out! You can also fill one out online, then print it and leave it with a loved one, a friend or a neighbor. As long as someone has your plan you are in a much safer position for a rescue if it is needed.
